HENDRICK, Donna
1949 – 2017

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Donna Hendrick D.C., following a long battle with M.S., Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Cherished daughter of the late Frank and Eileen (nee Kehoe). Beloved sister of Linda, David (Stephanie), Maureen (Roger) Brunelle, and Colleen (the late Todd Sadonoja). She is predeceased by her precious niece Aimee Morton (1977). Donna will be fondly remembered by all who love her. Donna began her career as a flight attendant with Air Canada in 1969. After her father’s death, she became actively involved in promoting the rights of workers through the flight attendants union and worked her way up through the ranks to lead her union as president at both the local and national levels. Donna’s lifelong pursuit of excellence is reflected in her double major degree from Woodsworth College at the University of Toronto in 1996. Donna followed her dreams as she went on to earn a Doctor of Chiropractics Degree from Sherman College in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 2001. Donna had a lifelong passion for travel and did so throughout the world. She especially looked forward to her many trips to China. Donna had great excitement each time she had the opportunity to explore the city of Shanghai. Donna was a devoted vegetarian and health food advocate long before it was fashionable. She strove to stay active with aerobics and later, ultra-long walks being an integral part of her daily routine. Donna pursued history and political issues and loved to read. Her winning smile, sense of humor, her radiant grace and persevering spirit in the face of her unrelenting medical condition, will forever live on in our hearts and memories. She was a loyal friend to Bill W. for 36 years.
Friends may pay their respects at the
Kelly Funeral Home – Kanata Chapel
580 Eagleson Rd., Kanata, ON
K2M 1H4 613-591-6580
On Friday, March 3, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1489 Shea Rd., Stittsville, at 11 a.m.
In memoriam donations to The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada or The Ottawa Mission appreciated.
Condolences and Sharing Memories at www.kellyfh.ca
