Huff, Catherine Marjory
Marge left us on Saturday morning, April 23,2016 at the age of 89. Marge is survived by Glenroy Ashton Huff, her loving and devoted husband of 61 years; her son Dan and his spouse Carolyn and their four boys Patrick, James, Thomas and David. She was extremely proud of them all. Marge was the third eldest of the nine children of Thomas Patrick and Mary Ellen (Maloney) McNulty. She is survived by her brother Sylvester (Connie) of Calabogie and Gertrude of Renfrew. She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Dan, C.J., Maurice, Bernard, Tommy and Stella. Marge was born on Feb. 10th 1927, on the farm in Calabogie. She was one of that group of exceptional women, who flew through the grades of her one room schoolhouse, and graduated at 15 from high school. She then went to Teacher's College in Ottawa, and at the ripe old age of 16, found herself teaching in her own school house in Arnprior. After a number of years and a few different schools she found herself in Mattawa. It was here that she met Glenroy. They were married in 1955 and lived in Mattawa until 1969. They then moved to North Bay where they lived until 2008. Her last move was back to the Ottawa Valley, to Richmond. Marge taught school, either full time or as a supply teacher, for over 40 years. Her last years of teaching were as a supply teacher in North Bay at Pope John XXIII. She was a very devout and active church member of Corpus Christi Church in North Bay and of St. Philip's in Richmond. Marge was also a member of the CWL for over 50 years. She was also a Girl Guide Leader for most of her time in Mattawa. Marge was a giving and compassionate person, wholly devoted to her husband and family. She loved to bake and to cook and insisted upon a clean and tidy house. Most dishes were preceded by the obligatory, "this didn't turn out the way I wanted it to." Friends may pay respects at the
Kelly Funeral Home, Kanata Chapel
580 Eagleson Rd., Kanata ON K2M 1H4
613-591-6580
Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
