beloved husband of Edith Anderson (née Mitchell) passed away peacefully on February 17, 2017 at the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Residence, after a brief illness. Predeceased by wife Janette Fraser, son Jamie and siblings William Alexander, May Cooper and Christine. Dear father of Terry (Judy), Craig (Zafira), and Janet MacCormack. Beloved brother of Dave. Loving grandfather to Russell and Neil Routh and Kristin MacCormack. Loved and respected stepfather of Richard (Michelle, deceased), Bruce (Nancy), James (Stefanie), and Douglas (Sharron) Anderson, he was graced with the love and affection of step grandchildren Jaimie (deceased), Kate, Erin, Molly, Kira, Tyler, Michael, Jordan and Fraser. Jim was born February 20, 1923 in Glasgow, Scotland and came to Canada in 1924. Following military service in World War II in the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps, Jim enjoyed a lengthy career with R.L. Crain Limited, eventually rising to the position of Purchasing Director. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, excellent golfer, and mischievous wit. He was humble, but possessed a quiet, yet impressive, intelligence. He was a self-sufficient handyman who built his own home and could fix anything.Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday, February 23, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, at Kelly Funeral Home Kanata Chapel at 580 Eagleson Road. Cremation, with an interment and memorial service to follow this spring at Rupert Union Cemetery, in Rupert, Quebec.
